Gameplay

In Slime Rancher 2, you’ll use your trusty Vacpack to suck up and shoot out various slimes, resources, and food items as you establish your ranch on Rainbow Island. The core gameplay revolves around collecting different slime species, building appropriate enclosures for them, and feeding them their preferred foods to produce valuable “plorts” that can be sold for Newbucks or used in crafting.

Each slime type has unique behaviors and dietary preferences – from the new Cotton Slimes that bounce around joyously eating vegetables to the mischievous Crystal Slimes that break everything in their path. You can even create “Largo” slimes by combining two different species, inheriting traits from both parent types but becoming too large to vacuum up.

When not tending to your ranch, you’ll explore the vibrant environments of Rainbow Island, discovering new slime varieties, collecting resources, and uncovering the mysteries of this strange new land. The platforming elements have been improved with smoother movement and jetpack controls, making exploration more enjoyable than ever.
