Killing Floor 3 is the highly anticipated third installment in Tripwire Interactive’s legendary action/horror FPS series, set to release in 2025 for PC. Set in the year 2091, players join the rebel group Nightfall to fight against the megacorporation Horzine and their army of bioengineered monsters known as ZEDs.

The game builds upon the foundation of its predecessors while introducing numerous improvements and new features. Developed on Unreal Engine 5, Killing Floor 3 delivers stunning visuals with enhanced gore effects through the improved M.E.A.T. (Massive Evisceration and Trauma) system, creating a more visceral and immersive experience.

Co-op Multiplayer

Killing Floor 3 supports both six-player cooperative gameplay and single-player modes, allowing you to assemble the ultimate ZED extermination squad or brave the battlefield alone. The game features crossplay functionality between PC and consoles, making it Tripwire’s first native crossplay game.

Specialists and Progression

Players can choose from six different specialists, each with unique weapons and special abilities. For example, the Ninja specialist wields dual swords and uses a grappling hook to pull themselves toward enemies. As you progress, you’ll unlock new skills for your specialists and earn scrap materials to customize your weapons, adding depth to the gameplay experience.

Gameplay

In Killing Floor 3, combat is more strategic than in previous entries. The game features fewer ZEDs per wave but makes them more dangerous with improved AI and new movement abilities. Enemies can now climb walls and ceilings, attacking from multiple angles and creating a more dynamic combat experience.

The movement system has been completely overhauled, allowing players to dash, climb ledges, and slide, opening up new tactical possibilities. Environmental interaction plays a significant role, with players able to activate turrets, fans, and other traps to gain an advantage against the ZED hordes.

Between rounds, players can restock ammunition and resources, activate devices like sentry guns or ziplines using the Multi-tool, and prepare for the next wave. The hub space, known as the Stronghold, serves as a base where players can select their characters and mission locations.
